Fisker pushes release of Pear EV until 2025

In a recent update, American electric vehicle manufacturer, Fisker Inc (NYSE:) announced that the launch of its highly anticipated model, the Fisker Pear, will be postponed until 2025. The company originally announced the affordable EV would debut with a price of $29,900 in 2024, but it is now scheduled to enter production in the first half of 2025.

While speaking at the recent Financial Times Future of the Car Conference, Fisker CEO Henrik Fisker said the reason for the delay was because of negotiations with battery suppliers. This follows a recent announcement by Fisker that the company cut its forecast for deliveries of the Fisker Ocean electric SUV in 2023 by about 10,000 to just around 32,000 examples this year.

The Fisker Pear, which will be available in two distinct configurations catering to diverse driving needs. The first configuration targets urban residents and is anticipated to provide a driving range of 100 to 150 miles. Alternatively, customers can opt for an optional battery setup that will offer over 300 miles of range, appealing to those seeking extended driving capabilities.

According to the company, more than 6,000 Pear reservations have been made.

Shares of FSR are down 1.32% in afternoon trading on Friday.
